What Calm Pomodoro and this site do with your data: the app sends nothing, and the site sets no cookies and doesn’t measure its audience.

Updated

In the app

Calm Pomodoro doesn’t ask you to create an account. Your settings, your intentions and your focus history stay on your iPhone: the app sends nothing, contains no ads and doesn’t measure how you use it.

Your focus history is recorded from the start; you can turn this off in Settings, General tab, with Record my sessions. Whatever has already been recorded then stays on your iPhone.

End-of-focus and end-of-break alerts, like the time shown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, are handed over to your iPhone, which triggers them without a connection. Your intention never appears there.

Deleting the app erases what it has saved on your iPhone. A backup of your phone, in iCloud or on your computer, may keep a copy, depending on your settings.

On this site

The site itself sets no cookies and uses no audience measurement tools. Its fonts, images and video are served with its pages, without calling on any other service.

It is hosted by Cloudflare, which receives the technical data of each visit, such as your IP address and the type of browser you use, to serve the pages and protect the site. When you leave your address for the launch, the form is received by the site itself, at Cloudflare, which counts submissions over one minute to curb abuse.

The address field also relies on Turnstile, Cloudflare’s anti-bot check. Its script loads when you touch the field, not before. It examines your browser to check that a person is filling in the form, without reading what you type, and it may sometimes ask you to tick a box.

When you sign up for the launch

Your address is first used to send you a confirmation email through Resend, the service that sends the site’s emails; Resend keeps a record of that sending for a short time. Until you open the link in that email, your address isn’t added to any list.

Once confirmed, it is kept at Resend, in the United States, for the sole purpose of writing to you once, on launch day. It is kept with the language to write to you in, taken from the page and your browser’s language settings, and with the first language of those settings. That message contains a link to remove yourself from the list, and the list is deleted after it is sent. You can also ask for it to be deleted at contact@calmpomodoro.com.

When you write

A message sent to contact@calmpomodoro.com goes through Cloudflare’s email forwarding service, then arrives in the personal inbox of the person who designs the app. Your address and your message are used to reply to you, or to write to you once on launch day if you asked. They are neither sold nor shared, and you can ask for them to be deleted at the same address.

If this page changes

It follows the app and the site: when the way they work changes, this page is reviewed, and the date at the top shows it.
